Retirement

San Joaquin County is committed to helping you plan for a secure and rewarding future. Through the County’s retirement program, employees have access to a defined benefit pension plan that provides lifetime income based on years of service, age at retirement, and final compensation.

In addition to pension benefits, employees may have opportunities to participate in voluntary deferred compensation plans to further enhance their retirement savings. These programs offer tax advantages and flexible investment options to help you build financial stability for the years ahead.

Explore the retirement resources below to learn more about your benefits, eligibility, and the tools available to help you plan confidently for retirement.

SJCERA

Full-time employees are eligible for retirement pension benefits through the San Joaquin County Employees’ Retirement Association (SJCERA).

Please ensure your beneficiary designation form is up to date with SJCERA.

All questions regarding your pension retirement plan should be directed to SJCERA:
